Create a Timetable and Stick to It
You don't have all the time in the world before your exams start, which means you should be using the time you do have as efficiently as possible. Creating a timetable which states when you should be revising what subject can help, especially when you break it down further into topics that you should be focusing on. You may find that after sticking to the timetable you have too much time assigned to some subjects and not enough to others, so you should adjust it as and when necessary to fit your circumstances.
There isn't a huge amount of time before your exams start, so you should consider the amount of time you allocate to each subject. Don't fall into the trap of not revising for a topic you feel confident in though, it's important to spend enough time on each subject and topic so that you have a complete understanding. Make sure you also put the time in for breaks, look after your health, and get a decent amount of sleep.
Ensure Your Environment is Conducive for Revision
Staying focused during your revision is important so that you take in all of the information needed, however, if you don't have a good environment for this activity then you may find yourself getting distracted. You should ensure your workspace promotes productivity. For some, going to the library or a cafe will remove any possible distractions, while others may be able to create a suitable study space at home.
When you're revising at home you should aim to keep your immediate surroundings organised and tidy, as a dirty room with lots of clutter can reduce your focus. If you can't face doing a large amount of cleaning, just do the quick and easy things like making your bed, taking out any dirty dishes or rubbish, and putting any clothes on the floor into a pile out of sight. You should then have plenty of room for everything you need like notes, textbooks and stationery.
Look After Your Health and Take Regular Breaks
Taking care of your mental and physical health should hold just as much priority as your revision during this stressful period. You will be able to learn and retain more by keeping a healthy mind and body. While you may think it sounds counter-productive to not be revising all the time, your brain is a muscle, and like any other muscle, it needs rest if you overwork it.
As mentioned earlier, you should make sure your timetable and schedule include rest breaks. Another important part of balancing your health during your studies is ensuring you get a solid 7 hours or more of sleep each night so that you can properly soak up the information you're learning. For your physical health, you should aim to do moderate activity for at least 30 minutes every day, which again will help you soak up more during your revision.
Learn How You Learn
By this point in your education, you should have a good grasp of several methods of revising, but you should also consider which of these methods can help you retain the most information. This may take a little research and experimentation, but once you've found what works for you, you can rely on this for all your future revision sessions. You may want to consider using different methods of revision for different types of content as appropriate.
