Selly Oak is a great place for students, having been a student hub for many years. The local area has a good selection of amenities for students, including supermarkets and local shops. Students can also find some lovely takeaways for an easy night in. Finally, there are some great hangout spots along the high-street where you can grab a nice bite to eat and drink in the evenings. There are also some great recreational areas nearby that provide ample room to both exercise and relax. Alternatively, university students are always welcome to use the university grounds at their will.
Selly Oak has two main forms of transports which can get students around Birmingham and into the city centre. The first mode of transport is the local bus service, which can be caught from almost anywhere in Selly Oak and is able to get you across Birmingham at most times of the day. The other is the local train station which students can use to travel into the city centre, and Birmingham New Street station.
